Moraine Avenue, a mile and a half from downtown and about a mile from the Park entrance, is where these log cabins sit. Each has a kitchen, a fireplace and a private deck facing the mountains, and one of the larger cabins has two bedrooms and two baths for up to seven.
The mountain view off the deck and a fire going are the parts people talk about, along with good beds and thick towels. A few cabins have private hot tubs. There is no air conditioning, which is rarely a problem up here but worth knowing during a July hot spell. And yes, there is a liquor store close by.
Lazy R belongs to Rocky Mountain Resorts, which also runs Fawn Valley Inn, Sunnyside Knoll, Timber Creek Chalets, Triple R Cottages and a set of vacation homes. Anyone traveling with a dog should look at the company's other properties, where the dog-friendly cabins are.
