On Grand Estates Drive, a short walk from the Lake Estes Marina, this log cabin sits on the lakeshore, and the trail around the water carries on into the shopping streets in town. Four bedrooms, five baths, rooms set up like hotel suites. The house also goes by The Wading Elk.

Outside there is a private deck, a hot tub and a gas fire pit. Inside, a gas fireplace and internet. The lake and the peaks are both in view from the house. The Park entrance is about five miles off, so it is a drive, not a stroll.

Read the house rules before booking a group: no parties, no unregistered guests at events, no student or school groups, no rehearsal dinners. For a bigger crowd, the same owners rent Park Entrance Lodge, which sleeps 20 and adds an indoor basketball court, billiards and its own hot tub.
