About
The Gonzalez family opened this place in the early 1990s, cooking dishes their grandmothers taught them in central Mexico. It's on East Elkhorn, next to the Estes Park Women's Monument and Wildside 4x4 Tours, with dining-room windows on the river. It's a downtown standby for families coming off a day in the Park.
Margaritas are the headline, with a deep list behind the house version. On the food side, the chile relleno is the dish people single out, along with enchiladas suizas, the seafood enchilada and the tamale plate. Queso fundido, ceviche and fire-roasted fajitas cover the middle of the table, and vegetarian items are marked.
The outdoor tables come with the river view, and they fill first in summer. Reservations can be made online, which helps on a busy evening. There's a kids' menu and takeout, and parties are welcome. Breakfast is on the menu too, and service moves quickly once you're seated.
