Brisket is the thing to order at Rivers Edge, a Texas-style barbecue counter on Moraine Avenue that cooks daily. Pulled pork is the runner-up. Both come as sandwiches, tacos or by the pound, with waffle fries, potato salad, beans, slaw or corn on the side, and a slice of Del Rio pecan pie if there's room.

The seating is the other half of it: picnic tables outside by the river. It's next to The Trading Post of the Rockies, about half a mile up Moraine from downtown, an easy stop on the way to or from Beaver Meadows. Dogs are fine at the tables, there's a kids' menu, and prices stay low.
