About
Yak is why most people walk in. The Grubsteak on West Elkhorn builds burgers from yak, elk and buffalo, and bison turns up across the menu, all served in an old building crammed with antiques and collectibles. Elk and buffalo burgers have their own followings, but the yak is the signature.
The meatloaf has its own fans, and the starters are worth a look: homemade shrimp cigars, Scotch eggs, pub room pretzels. Trout, ribs and steaks cover the plates, and there are vegetarian options for anyone at the table skipping game. Microbrews and cocktails both get attention at the bar, and the pub room shows the game.
There's a fireplace inside and a patio where dogs are allowed, and the outdoor seats get plenty of use. Reservations are taken, which helps on summer weekends. Bob & Tony's Pizza is a few doors down, and Bond Park is around the corner. There's a kids' menu for the younger crowd.
