About

Just up from Lake Estes on Fourth Street, the town museum tells the valley's homesteading story through restored buildings, displays and tours. It is small, admission is free with a donation box at the door, and the docents know the area well enough to field the odd question about who built what and when. Kids get a scavenger hunt, which buys the adults time to read the panels. Elk wander this end of town often. It is wheelchair accessible and an easy stop between lunch and the lake.
