Historic Crags Lodge

Up the hill on Riverside Drive, above downtown, the Crags is a century-old lodge where every room is a suite. It sits in the town's old hillside neighborhood, with trailheads and wildlife-watching spots starting close by, and The View Restaurant is right next door.

Suites come with kitchens or kitchenettes, and the property has a hot tub, a pool, a fireplace, a pool table and board games, plus laundry that costs nothing. It also hosts weddings. Board games and the pool table make a rainy evening easy, and the kitchens mean breakfast in for a family.

Downtown is a walk, though the walk back is uphill. Families and groups take the bigger suites, couples the small ones. The building keeps its old alpine character, so rooms vary from one to the next, and the mountain views come with the hillside. The Park entrance is a short drive in the morning. Ask which suites have a fireplace if that matters.
