In summer the outdoor pool opens; the rest of the year the hot tub does the work. The Quality Inn is on Big Thompson Avenue near Lake Estes, about a mile and a quarter from downtown, and the rooms are roomier and quieter than the roadside look suggests, with balconies and some fireplaces. Family rooms are available, breakfast is hot and included, and a balcony with a mountain view is the best seat in the place. Elk come by now and then.
