Elk shows up three ways on the menu here: in the chili, over nachos and as a burger. The poutine is the other thing people order, and the burger list runs from a truffle burger to a donut bacon cheeseburger, with sweet potato fries and wings on the side. Roasted bone marrow and flatbreads are there for anyone who wants something besides a burger.

Latitude 105 is a lodge-style alehouse next to the Holiday Inn on South St. Vrain, a short walk from the Visitor Center and Lake Estes. There's a full bar with a happy hour, pool tables and a foosball table, and the TVs make it a decent place to catch a game.

The kitchen keeps unusual hours, breakfast in the morning and then dinner, with a gap in the middle. Kids have their own menu, takeout works, and it takes reservations. The room is casual, and families and groups both fit.
